This session discusses how academia manoeuvres between theory and practice while addressing academic design exercises at the scale of the region. Some of the questions that will be addressed are related to the real world versus laboratory setting dichotomy, experimentation with new visualization methods, dealing with complexity of data, time horizons and the communicative turn in planning.
