Travel

The conference site is easily reached by public transport. Here, you can find information about connections and ticket prices. Tickets are available online or at ticket machines located at every metro station. As a general a rule, day tickets and group tickets are the option to go for. For the city center and the conference site, the single or group day ticket XXL is suitable.
 

From the city center of Munich:

It takes 25 min by subway from Marienplatz  to the Garching campus. (No. U6 to the terminal “Garching-Forschungszentrum” (= Garching research center)

 From the airport:

  • Take the S-Bahn (suburban railway) S1 to Neufahrn, change then to bus no. 690
    or
  • take the S8 to Ismaning, change then to bus no. 230

By taxi:

A taxi ride from central Munich to Garching will cost about 40-50 € (depending on your exact location). A taxi ride from the airport will cost about 35-40 €.

By car:

The campus is easily accessed by car. Just follow Autobahn A9 and take exit “Garching Nord”. Parking is available on campus at the locations indicated here.

Munich is also equipped with several car sharing services such as DriveNow (available in the city, at the airport and on campus) or car2go (available in the city and at the airport).
